TRUTH or Tradition

We celebrate the Resurrection of Christ our Lord today, and all across this earth God created people will be gathering to hear a message of His grace and His love and the POWER of that resurrection in our lives if we'll but receive it.

HALLELUJAH!!

But, what about that one little untruth that gets repeated over and over and over.  Not because there is any scripture to back it up, but because somewhere along the line, some human being thought it sounded powerful and would make a great emotional impact on people.

While on the cross and right before He willingly and in total obedience to the Father took on the sins of all the world, past, present and future, Jesus spoke these words:

"Eli Eli lamna sabachthani"

Psalm 22 is what He is credited as quoting.  The Psalmist cries out that he feels forsaken, but yet knows that God is present, that God is his Deliverer.

We hear over and over in the tradition of men that Jesus cried out and this meant God had turned His back on His only begotten Son because God couldn't look upon sin.

Where is that in the Bible?  I've never found such a reference without stretching certain verses to make them appear so.

Yet the bible clearly tells us that God will "never leave you nor forsake you."  Hebrews 13:5

Am I to believe that insignificant me, in my sin, when I sin, God stays with me and never leaves me, never forsakes me, but that Jesus, perfect and sinless Son that He is, was forsaken??

Are we putting our trust in TRUTH or in the traditions of men?

There is so much that could be said, but since it is our intention to make known Gods word and let the hearts of men guide them as they pray and seek Gods will for their lives, and we have no desire to engage in useless argument - we put this before each of you.

Search the scriptures, for in them you will find the Words of Life that will guide and lead you into all TRUTH.

God bless you this Resurrection Celebration and every day.
