WHAT ARE WE WATCHING FOR?

Luke 21; Matthew 24; Revelation - these verses specifically address the signs and occurrences immediately preceding Jesus' return to earth, His Second Coming, to gather His saints to Himself and take them with Him to the Heavens.  According to Corinthians and Thessalonians, this means that those who have died in Christ will be raised from the dead and those still alive physically will be instantly changed from physical to spiritual. (I Corinthians 15; I Thessalonians 4:16)

Jesus Himself made it clear that no one knows the exact time, not even He, but God the Father alone knows the time.  Waste of our time guessing and setting dates and times, and it shows a disrespect for God to speculate and calculate after we've been told it's not for us to know!

HOWEVER - we are told to be aware of the signs which will indicate the season of His coming.  We are told that we are to be prepared at all times.  We are told that we have a duty to perform - we are to WATCH & PRAY.

We need to watch for the signs of His coming in order to match our preparation to what we see.  We need to pray for ourselves and others, that we will be prepared, that we will know Him and the power of His resurrection.  Pray for salvation.  Pray for forgiveness of sin.  Pray for a heart of obedience to do His will.  Pray for eyes to see the signs.  Pray for wisdom to understand what our response must be to all that He initiates.  Pray for souls to come to Christ.  Pray for the Body of Christ to be alert, awake and ready for His coming! (See the story of the 10 virgins in Matthew 25)

For the next number of weeks the Archaeologist's Club will be discussing and studying what we commonly refer to as the "End Times".  Interested? Curious?  Join us on Thursdays and learn more about what's to come and what our response should be.
